Al-Furqan Centre Volunteer Terms and Conditions


Welcome to the volunteer team at the Al-Furqan Centre, Manchester. We are thrilled to have you on board and look forward to working together to make a positive impact in our community. These terms and conditions are designed to provide clarity about what you can expect from us and what we expect from you in your volunteer role.


  1. Role and Responsibilities: Your specific volunteer role and responsibilities will be outlined in your volunteer agreement. We expect you to perform your volunteer duties to the best of your ability and adhere to our policies, procedures, and the ethos of the Al-Furqan Centre.
  2. Time Commitment: We understand that volunteers have other commitments. We ask that you communicate openly with us about your availability and any changes to it. Your agreed-upon hours and any flexibility will be discussed and documented in your volunteer agreement.


  1. Professionalism: Volunteers are expected to act in a professional manner, maintain confidentiality where required, and represent the Al-Furqan Centre positively in the community.
  2. Equality and Respect: We are committed to creating an inclusive environment. Volunteers must respect diversity and act without discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other characteristic.
  3. Health and Safety: You are required to comply with all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure your well-being and that of others. Please report any concerns or incidents to your supervisor promptly.

Training and Support

  1. Orientation: All volunteers will receive an orientation to familiarise themselves with the Al-Furqan Centre, its policies, and their specific roles.
  2. Training: Additional training may be provided as necessary for your role. We encourage you to take full advantage of these opportunities to enhance your skills and effectiveness as a volunteer.


  1. Personal Growth: Volunteering with us is an opportunity for personal and professional development. We encourage you to learn new skills and take on challenges.
  2. Community Impact: Your contribution will have a direct impact on our community, supporting our mission to provide valuable services and support to those in need.
  3. Recognition: We value the time and effort our volunteers contribute and will recognise your service in various ways throughout your time with us.

Withdrawal or Termination

  1. Resignation: If you wish to cease volunteering with us, we ask that you provide us with as much notice as possible, ideally two weeks, to allow us to manage the transition.
  2. Termination: The Al-Furqan Centre reserves the right to terminate a volunteer’s position if it is in the best interest of the organisation or the community we serve. This would occur only after a thorough review and, where possible, a discussion with the volunteer involved.


By volunteering with the Al-Furqan Centre, you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions, along with any other policies and procedures communicated to you. We hope your volunteer experience with us is fulfilling and beneficial for both you and the communities we serve.
